Corey Smith - President

An experienced entrepreneur for over 20 years, Corey started a construction and development business in 2005. New Horizon Steel is the newest component of that business which began in 2010 as a steel and precast construction services affiliate. Corey will be a liaison to the Developer and General Contractor as his duties include leading the team, and will supplement his efforts by focusing on preplanning, logistics, and execution.

Joe Jurasits - VP of Engineering

Licensed Professional and Structural Engineer with a specialty in construction engineering. Joe has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry; effectively performing a variety of tasks from estimating and pre-planning through operations and close-out on a project. Joe is organized, effective, and detail oriented, and will be spearheading valued engineering efforts along with development of the site-specific erection procedures on the pre-planning front; as well as being responsible for daily supervision of erection plan procedures and assisting in project management during project operations.

Scott Kiran - Superintendent of Field Operations

Scott has over 30 years of structural steel erection experience as a proud member of Local 1 Ironworkers Union and has utilized a highly experienced field labor force on the projects listed below. Scott’s extensive experience will offer a valued perspective to all aspects of the company’s functions that will carry through from estimating, pre-planning, and valued engineering involvement to day-to-day jobsite coordination, scheduling, and operations.

Helen Smith - Contract Administrator

Helen heads NHS’s office staff for all Accounting Functions. Helen has a B.S in Business and Administration and is a highly motivated and organized team leader. She will oversee coordinating between HR/Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Benefits, etc. while keeping her team driven.

Cree Smith - Purchasing/Payroll

Cree steers her department by handling all field required materials for our projects coordinating with our Superintendent and Foreman.  She processes payroll weekly and along with certified payroll data. Together with Helen they will ensure that all paperwork and electronic reporting requirements of the project are satisfied and accurate.

Cassidy Koontz - Administrative Assistant

Cassidy Koontz is our newest team member to the Construction Industry. She coordinates all and new employee documentation. Cassidy is cross trained with our AP/Payroll Department as she handles invoicing and data entry into certain project compliance payroll systems and NHS. Her contribution to New Horizon Steel is endless as her scope is beyond mentioned.

Clayton Neubaum - Sales/Estimating

With over 20 years’ experience in the structural steel and metal decking industry, Clayton will coordinate all sales and estimating for each project. With his previous field experience, he will also assist in areas such as project pre-planning, sequencing, project design changes & project management.

Devin Smith - Safety Director

Devin oversees our daily safety procedures in the field, as well as reviewing and updating our safety regulations. Making sure our staff is provided with information on trainings, emergency protocols, while working to minimize workplace accidents, occupational illnesses or long-term health hazards. Devin ensures that safety guidelines are followed, equipment is used properly, and procedures are in accordance with OSHA regulations.
